It has been an intense, powerful summer. We all learned something about each other and ourselves. Already, reports of “Mt Men Clubs” springing up  in your neighborhoods so that “Each One Can Teach One.”

Next year, 1962 Adventure Trail will be two 2 week sessions:

                Mon  9 July thru Sun 22 July

                Mon 23 July thru Sun  5 August

Age span will be 9 thru 15. Groups will be same size: small. We re going to be getting boys from other parts of the country: from back on the coasts. And as we learned by Shivering Tall timber from Chicago, it takes a couple fo days until they get used to the altitude. The 4-weeks together will give those who want it a long uninterrupted session. Rest of the group will be filled on the 2 week basis.

With more time we will earn more things more leisurely. There probably will be a 1 & 2 day side trips in the truck to other parts of the state for fishing and swimming. In camp, we’ll master more of the things we never had time for this year --- like bread baking; food preservation.

We also will have more Schola:Leisure to develop individual research projects’ to do more creative writing, art & music; to learn how to read newspapers critically (Denver Post, NY Times, Manchester Guardian), how to think critically and speak confidently -- these are vital things for the growing democracy which you will inherit shortly. Specially planned surprise guest speakers will come up to break bread and eat and talk with us around the campfires.

And the last week end, Friday thru Sunday, 3-5 Aug, we will invite Parents up so YOU can teach THEM. Also all past Mt Men will be invited up for the last Sunday so we can hold a reunion RENDEZVOUS just like Jim Bridger and the trappers did in Jackson Hole 100 years ago. Singing, dancing, lie-telling, contest of strength & skill -- an all-around wild time to send Grumpy Bear a-runnin to hide in Central City!
